Run time 1hr 42min

Finally an original animated movie that’s not trying to copy Spiderverse’s style! Disney take notes because no one liked Wish. This movie was an absolute delight to watch. The visuals are just STUNNING. Like a watercolor illustrated children’s book. The plot was sweet and simple in the best way, yet very original! A real return to form for a kid’s movie. I was worried it’d be too much like Wall-e, but that is not the case at all. This film was surprisingly emotional but not too sad for kids (looking at you, Iron Giant). I could not get over how adorable all the character designs were. Especially the little duckling. The voice performances were top notch. In animation it’s important to hear the character and not the voice actors. Pedro Pascal and Lupita Nyong’o really nailed their characters. I adored watching the woodland animals develop a relationship with each other and the robot. Absolutely wholesome. Truly there’s nothing that I really disliked about this movie. I’m not sure why there hasn’t been more ads out there for the Wild Robot, I think they’re doing it a disservice. Take your kids to see it, or go see it yourself, it’s definitely worth catching in theaters! 8/10.
